The play time movie is a French Italian Comedy whose directors was Jacques Tati. This films was first produced in 1967. In this movie, Tati has used the character, Monsieur Hulot who has appeared in some of the previous works. As this film was being produced, it has been structured into six series whereby there are two characters who are linked and they frequently meet with each other during the day. One of these characters is Barbara. Barbara can be seen to be a young American tourist who has visited Paris with a group of American women that seem middle-aged. The second character is Monsieur Hulot who seems befuddled and seems like he is lost in the modernity that he has found in Paris. In this film, the Play Time, there are various shots which have been created. These shots have played a significant role in the film because they have helped to bring up some ideas. Also, these shots have enhanced the flow of the film which as makes it easy to understand. One of the shots that is evident from the film is the shot of the glass building. The shot of the glass building is constructed the way it is because the director of the film was trying to show the building whereby Hulot was going to attend the meeting. This shots have been shot from the inside and outside. Inside the glass building, the people who work there seem organization and they go about their activity unbothered with other people. For instance, most of the people in the building did not bother with Hulot, and as a result, none of them assisted him as he was looking for the office where he was to attend a certain meeting. The outside shot of the building is constructed the way it is to show that it is one of the modern facilities which has been constructed. The shot is constructed the way it is because the producer of the film wanted the viewers to understand the surrounding area of where Hulot was attending the meeting.

The presence of this shot in the film has various effects on the story being described in the film. This shot occurred as the film was starting. Therefore, one of the effects that this shot has is that it has placed the story into a modern society. How the building has been created, is how modern structures have been developed. The building has been fitted with modern structures such as glass walls and lifts. The second effect of the building is that since it is a modern structure and at that time there was some place that had not seen such a structure, there are those who would be surprised. This issue affected Hulot when he came in for the meeting. When he entered the building, Hulot was very confused about where to go. There is a scene whereby Hulot enters into a loft without knowing that it is a lift. Someone follows him, and when he pressed the button to close the do and go up, Holut looked frightened and confused because he had never been too such as place. The third effect of the shot of the view of the building where the meeting that Hulot was attending was that it helped to show that it is located in a seemly cool environment. The environment seemed cool because there was little traffic as well as the movement of people. This less traffic and movement of people is an indication that there is no noise; hence the place is a conducive to hold meetings and other important events.

One of the things that this shot helped to understand was that the film was about the kind of experience that a person goes through when he or she goes to a new place that is different from where he or she is used. The other way that this shot will help to understand the films is that it helps to show that people who are in the building were serious with whey they were doing. This concept is seen whereby in the building, every person seems to be doing their activities. Most of these people were busy, and they could not help Hulot to find where the meeting that had come to attend was. Therefore, this place can be deduced to be a workplace whereby every person has a role that he or she is expected to accomplish. The next way that this chosen shot helped to understand what the film is about is that it help to show some comedy. The main genre of this film was comedy. The way in which Hulot was behaving while in the building was in a funny way. As he was looking for whereby to go or where the meeting that he was supposed to attend was, Hulot acted in a funny way by trying to behave as if he knew the place but in reality he was totally confused. Also, the other way that Hulot behave which can be termed to be funny is that he as dressed in an old fashioned way.
