The art work's primary subject matter was painting since earlier years. Picasso, at the age of seven, showed interest in painting, having his father as the traditional artist as well as the instructor (Ruggieri et al., 2017). His father took him through building blocks of traditional art, which made him be well equipped with the knowledge of painting which, when turning eleven he already knew how to paint in a classic style (Day, 2016). Picasso, at thirteen, performed well in the entrance exam in the Barcelona School of Fine Art in just a short period of one week, which to other students, it could take them a month or more.

In 1890, he had begun to show his essential skills in the actual painting, having explorations of what best could come out of the wonderful nature. Picasso's artwork took a total period of 90 years which, when further put into fractions, consisted of the following achievements; During 1900, the period was known as a blue period, which was between 1901 to 1904; then came the rose period which was between 1904 and 1906. 1907 to 1909 saw a period in his artwork movement known as African art and primitivism followed by analytic cubism that was between the period of 1909 and 1912. Synthetic cubism was in the period between 1912 and 1919, followed by Neoclassicism and surrealism, which was from 1919 to 1929 (Ruggieri et al., 2017). The Great Depression to MoMA exhibition was in the year 1930 and 1939, after that World War II and the late 1940s was between 1939 to1949 which marked his new artworks in the years between 1949 to1973.

Jackson Pollock similarly was a significant American painter who was behind the excellent expressionist art movement in the world of arts. This made him famous and notorious during his lifetime in artworks since his greatness lied in the development of one of the superior styles of abstract in the history of modern art (Day, 2016). This involved detaching different lines from colors, having the drawing classes and painting redefined as well as establishing a new way of describing the pictorial space. Unlike Picasso, Pollock was a Codman born in the year 1912 and grew up in California experiencing traditional American culture.

Jackson Pollock's father was known in farming but later became a government's civil servant working as a land surveyor. Jackson Pollock, in the year 1929, studied painting, after which he worked as a painter in the regional painter under the influence of muralist painter from Mexico by the name Rivera Digo. He showed his good work, which later led him to the Picasso exhibition. This made him realize that he, too, could someday emerge a great artist.

Few decades after World War II Vanguard, another artist came up in New York who introduced gradual steps in art. From this, Pollock picked basic ideas and implemented them in his work, which by the 1940s, he had launched his popularly known drip paintings, which changed the direction of American artwork positively (Day, 2016). He continually discovered new painting styles, which earned much fame in whole New York. Until now, Pollock is the American greatest living painter known in the expressionism art movement. However, Pollock struggled with personal issues like alcoholism and stress on how to become the best outstanding painter. Just like other influential persons in society, his element of influence has been significantly felt among American artists.

Expressionism art movement came forth simultaneously across Germany regarding the human anxiety that spread widely relating to World War II (Miller, 2015). It was accompanied by lost affection for human genuineness and religion that increased rapidly. In line with a social reaction against false impression and arts of academia, the expressionism art movement was highly motivated in the 19th century by current symbolism (Garland, 2018). This major was rooted in the individual self-expressions of what they desired to experience and what they expected from the federal governments. Artists began to make paintings and drawings of alienated persons that brought forth the kind of expectations they wanted to have during the world war era (Miller, 2015). This stage took a period of fifteen years i.e., From 1905 to 1920. This is to means that World War II had a more significant impact on the type of this art movement, hence the name expressionism art movement.

As a result of the expressionist approach to the urbanized world in the 20th century, they came up with a powerful means of criticizing the federation in their artifacts and painting (Miller, 2015). On the other hand, the Cubism art movement originated from the views of figures and pictures since some were 3-D cubes. The artist, Picasso, who liked to embrace nature, developed cubism art movement from regular, natural occurrences.

Conclusion

From the above discussions, contrasts, and comparison between Picasso and Pollock, it can be concluded that the differences between these two artists outweigh their similarities right from the place of birth, instructor, and mentors in line with their artwork. In these places, they schooled and the drive each one of them had towards the art movement, the years they spent in artwork, for instance, Picasso spent almost his lifetime, a period of 90 years in art, unlike Pollock who did it out of pleasure and for the fewer period compared to the initial artist (Garland, 2018). The only significant similarity was that both majored in painting. However, Pollock's kind of picture was narrowed down to drip and splash art.
