Introduction
A life script is a plot which is written from childhood to adulthood. Because of specific situations, a person starts to include experiences they go through in their life story. Each person goes through distinct life experiences in every stage of their life. In these life stages, people can develop their perceptions and decisions that enable them to acquire strengths and knowledge to achieve their personal growth in their life. Some individuals experience extreme physical, emotional, and psychological challenges while others have less challenged lives. However, the level of intensity that every person goes through during their development makes the person become who they are currently. A script of life is described by an excellent return to the realization of the moral lessons and challenges experienced in the past; specifically, the recovery of unresolved conflicts between people can be discussed and settled. If the unresolved conflicts are effectively resolved to provide significant meaning to a person's life. I have an interest in exploring and understand my life script and the relationship between my current life position and my life script.
I have realized that I have many life scripts and the way they connect to me. The thoughts concerning my life scripts help me know that positive and negative life experiences exist in my life. It is also to my realization that the life script staying in my heart are the scripts that I allow. It is difficult to find positive life scripts though they eventually come after giving a long thought. One of the positive life scripts that I have is kindness and a good understanding of people. I am sure that I acquired a positive life script from my parents who are always kind and understand me in every step I take in my life. Another positive life script is being brought up by Christian parents who taught me good morals like being humble, respecting people, and going to church. During my childhood, my parents taught me how to pray and how to read the Bible. Nevertheless, I also experienced negative life script as I was growing up, I was affected by the way people were judging me because I was a Christian and people thought that I was too judgmental.
The positive life scripts that I experienced from my parents like reading my bible, praying, and going to church are still essential because they are part of my daily activities and I am living the life that my parents taught me. Being humble and respectful has enabled me to associate well with people around me. The script about being too judgmental is irrelevant because I believe that people have resilient abilities to judge people and it is something difficult to avoid. My parents wrote the script like in one scenario; my mum wrote that I used to fear 'the beauty and the beast' cartoon and I could run and hold her tight. My mum would always embrace me and assure me that everything was okay. This made me feel loved and cared for. Learning about my life script is essential especially about the upbringing I received from my parents because it will enable me to bring up my children with good morals. I will teach my children about God and how to pray and the importance of going to church.
Conclusion
To conclude, I have learned that a life script is a plot which is written from childhood to adulthood and it is essential because it helps in exploring and understanding my life script and the relationship between my current life position and my life script. The thoughts concerning my life scripts help me realize that positive and negative life experiences exist in my life. Some individuals experience extreme physical, emotional, and psychological challenges while others have less challenged lives.
