Introduction

Environment is everything that is around the biotic and abiotic living organisms in an ecos-system. It is made up of physical, chemical and natural forces. Both biotic and abiotic factors continually adapt with each other to ensure they get access to food, water, and shelter in the ecosystem. Hence it is paramount that we guarantee there is proper conservation of the environment, and for this to be effective we need to have regulations in place, but the remaining question is who will be mandated to ensure the law of the land is put to its proper effect (Sandy, 2018). This case especially applies to the Native Americans living on the reservations. In the United States, the Environmental General Assistance Program (EGAP) offers grants that enable tribes living in Native America to monitor and evaluate the resources within the environment and to focus more on the protection of the environment through having clean up reservation programs. The main issue at hand is who decides the law of the land among the Native Americans Living in reservations guiding environmental protection and regulation to avoid cases of pollution and other ways that bring degradation on our environment.

The Native American communities are currently struggling to maintain their ancient customs and traditions that defined their culture, and this is primarily due to pollution of the environment through industries that have been characterized by the twenty-first century unlike before. Our culture is plagiaristic of the natural resources and maintaining of the natural resources within the environment. The history behind this essay is to ensure we have laws in place that will put to an end some of the environmental problems like pollution of the air from our industries, waters through waste being discharged into streams of rivers and how this has impacted on the access to necessities like safe drinking water and sewage treatment especially to those Native Americans living in the reservations. The essence of this essay is to explain how the Native Americans living in the reservations will be able to get access to necessities and the laws to ensure some laws will instill proper environment management amongst them.

Another issue that is needed to be addressed is how those tribes living adjacent to hazardous waste sites will be relocated and the laws to stop our fish from dying from the chemical wastes originating from these water sites hence we should have rules in place that will ensure the environmental problems faced by Native Americans are ended.

Sovereignty means the authority to govern yourself as a tribe or a state. In this case, Native Americans should be sovereign to be able to preserve their tribal lands properly in the perspective of environmental conservation and overall management. This will require them to put some laws and taxes that will require everyone to have the license of accessing firewood from trees, fishing, land use and punitive actions on those found to be polluting the environment. There is need to have proper environmental programs that will guide the Native Americans on how to ensure they conserve the ecosystem through techniques like planting trees, resulting to nuclear energy as opposed to using of fuel and coal among others (Williams, 2018). There is need to address some problems that are affecting the Native Americans which is lack of sufficient funds and inadequate training and awareness of the ways of conserving the environment this is problematic since they all draw support from one focal leadership point. However, the government has mandated the Federal agencies to address these problems to ensure they regain the trust of the Native Americans again.

There is also need to address conflicts of the American and Indians over land issue which is negatively impacting the environment and hence there is need for them to solve the disputes and collaborate to ensure that they will get the necessary resources to implement programs like monthly cleanups and having laws like ban on plastic bags and coal products, hence recommending the use of nuclear energy which negatively impacts on the government. So conflicts is a very thorny issue in the modern age and affect the collaborative measures to be taken on ensuring the environment is conserved. Another exacerbating contemporary problem is when the two cultures clash this will derail the efforts of federal agencies in providing the implement on joint programs and methods that will ensure we conserve the environment and focus on modern day culture (Eason, 2018). This will also enable them to have proper solutions like solid waste disposal, pickup of trash, access to safe drinking water, having in place flush-installed toilets to avoid waste from being thrown into rivers. Environmental bodies can enforce these solutions under the radar and funding from federal agencies and along the way it will help in addressing the cultural differences, and conflicts over land that is full of waste between the Native Americans and Indians. These are the possible solutions to solving the contemporary environmental/land issues between the Native Americans and Indian.
