Introduction
The ministry aims to develop a generation of physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy Christians through its programs and initiatives. My team aims to empower the youth through sports and recreational activities that will enable them to develop closer relationships with God. The efforts, in this perspective, are efficient since it provides platforms for the community to bond without bitter competition besides opportunities to fellowship in Christ.
Plans for the Christian Ministry
The main activities and plans for the ministry are leadership training programs, Bible studies, sports, and recreational activities. However, it is essential to plan the acquisition of critical instruments and facilities before the start of the outreach. Some of the plans in place are hiring spacious playgrounds and security apparatus. Besides acquiring a permit to convene the events, the team will also enquire from the authorities about laws that govern social events. This step is essential to ensure the activities of the ministry comply with European laws. The Bible also states that Christians should subject themselves to the governing authorities since God appoints authorities, and all powers come from Him (Romans 13:1, NKJV).
Action Plans for the Ministry
While in the UK and other parts of Europe, the ministry will implement programs that aim to strengthen other people's faith in God. First, the team will train the community on servant-leadership within a Christian context. This program is necessary since it prepares the young generation to take leadership roles as followers of Christ. Thomas (2018) noted that Jesus prepared His disciples for leadership roles by mentoring and developing closer relationships with them. Secondly, the ministry will convene sports and recreational activities for the youth and children above seven years. The basis of these events is to teach the word of God while addressing issues among specific target groups. Recreational activities, according to the Christ in Sports Ministries (2017), are useful tools of evangelism since they are attractive means of proclaiming the gospel through experimental learning. Thirdly, the ministry will conduct Bible studies to give people directions they need in their Christian lives.
Specific Components of the Ministry
The components for my ministry revolve around evangelism, advocacy, leadership development, and community life. The basis of these aspects is resource distribution and leadership training. These components prepare the local communities to be active Christians who can engage in successful outreach. The ministry will use the Bible to guide them to live a holy life that pleases God. As part of leadership development, evangelism, and advocacy, my team will distribute discipleship curriculum resources and Bible guides to the new believers.
Specific Target Groups
My ministry targets specific groups, including churches, university students, business people, prisoners, children, youth, and parents both in rural and urban areas. The team will collaborate with the local churches as a strategy to gain acceptance in Europe. The university students, however, form an essential target group for sports evangelism. My ministry will reach out to the university trainees through student organizations such as the Christian Union. It is an essential target group to preach the gospel since university students are at a critical stage of their development as they prepare for parenthood. Thus, the ministry will shed light on living a holy life by avoiding drug abuse and irresponsible sexual behaviors.
My group will reach out to inmates through Christian organizations in prisons. It is essential to evangelize to this target group and prepare them for a God-fearing life upon release from the correctional facilities. I will write personal letters of encouragement to the inmates and even citing Bible stories from the book of Daniel. The scripture says Christians should remember prisoners as if they are chained with them (Hebrews 13:3, NKJV). Also, the ministry will evangelize to children between 7-14 years through recreational activities and sports. This target group should receive the gospel at their childhood to become active Christians in their adulthood. Business people, parents and guardians, on the other hand, need encouragement and guidance and thus an essential target group.
How to Implement the Components and Why the Programs are Good Fit
The ministry will implement its evangelism programs among children and the youth through sports and recreational activities. The team will give teenagers who will participate in the events shirts with bold slogans about Jesus Christ in it. The programs are a good fit for the youth and teenagers since they love sporting activities and thus an opportunity to evangelize. Besides, the ministry will collaborate with the prison authorities to proclaim the gospel to inmates. This aspect is an opportunity to implement components such as advocacy, and thus an appropriate approach. The ministry's programs will also target traders through business network events. The strategy is the best fit since it brings together all business people in the society and thus an opportunity to evangelize to the non-believing business associates.
Morris (2018) noted that the shared values and beliefs of the European Union promote spirits of intercultural dialogue (ICD). Therefore, its citizens tend not to respond to discrete religious concerns that manifest among themselves and the foreign people promoting their religious beliefs. This scenario suggests that the approaches of the ministry fit well culturally.
Conclusion
The plans for the ministry targets the inmates, children, youth, parents, and university students. These target groups have different life experiences, and thus, my team will use tailored programs and initiatives to bring them closer to God. The components of my group are advocacy, evangelism, leadership development, and community life.
