Make up consist of cosmetic products that are used by women to enhance their appearance of the face by improving the texture of the body. There are different kinds of make-up depending on the part of the body that they are used to enhance the appearance. The main reason for wearing make-up is to conceal their flaws and protect their ideal image to the world. Women use make up for different personal reasons depending on how they feel about themselves and the type of people that they want to impress.
There are some aspects in their face that the women do not like; hence, make-up helps in concealing the aspects of the fact that the women want to conceal (Louis, 2019). Among such aspects include their skin completion. The make-up can change the skin color to the color that the women would like to see, depending on the type of clothes that the women are wearing for the occasion. The women want to change the color on their faces because they want it does look different into a color that they like and one that matches the clothes they are wearing.
Among other reasons why women wear make-up is to increase their likability by enhancing their beauty and grooming. When women are going on special occasions, they wear make-up such as the one that matches their grooming with their look for people to like them (Korichi, Pelle-de-Queral, Gazano & Aubert, 2019). It's the nature of women beings to like things that look good; hence, they are more likely to get the attention of the people that they won't like them. Make up changes the perceptions of the people; therefore, the audience is likely going to love them.
The other reason why women wear make-up is to enhance their confidence and feel better; the self-love is because the women are confident that all the people that will see them while wearing the make-up are going to like them. The make-up attracts people that offer a positive compliment of the look of the women, whenever people compliment them, they feel that they are appreciated for having a good look (Louis, 2019). The compliments boost their confidence and morale in different activities that they engage in. Women also wear make-up because they want to draw attention to special people that they want to be noticed by. Women like to be noticed; hence, they wear make-up for people to notice how they look good. People get perceptions that women always look the way they look while wearing make-up, which is a win for them in shaping their perceptions.
The women argue that make-up does not make them beautiful the only thing that it does he changing the perceptions of the people and making them stop judging them from the flaws that they might be having (Kramer, 2018). The women believe that they are generally beautiful without make-up. The only thing that the make-up does is enhancing their beauty and changing the perceptions of the people. The women believe that their beauty is not defined by their complexion but rather is defined by their inner beauty, which includes their character and how they do things.
Make-up is applied in areas where there are not clothes designed to cover; hence make up is the best option to hind the flaws on the face. When the make-up is applied, the flaws are covered; hence, the person feels comfortable when the flaws are covered (Korichi, 2017). The self-esteem of women is raised when they do not have flaws that will make people have negative perceptions because of how they look. Women are often compared to other women in terms of how they look because the women are confident that the make-up will make them win the comparisons.
The make-up does not change how women look. It only enhances the beauty that they already have (Korichi, 2017). According to research, when women feel that they are beautiful, they become more productive in their work because they know that they are seen as the best; hence, they want to prove themselves. The women with make-up believe that the people see them as the best; thus, they work hard to maintain the status from their looks and the work that they do. The make-up inspires women to be the best of themselves and to remain positive because they believe people are positive towards them.
Women apply make-up to keep up with what society considers as beauty. The beauty industry greatly influences women's decision to apply make-up. There are countless advertisements that use photo-shopped images for marketing their products. The images in these advertisements are perfect with excellent skin tone (Cosslett, 2019). Well, no woman does not want to look good, so if the products advertised can achieve this goal, they will consider using them. The beauty industry makes women who have skin with laws feel inadequate. They feel that they do not meet the beauty standards, and this affects them psychologically. The beauty industry provides a solution to women by applying make-up to enhance the looks and look beautiful. Media has, therefore, negatively affected women's self-image.
Since there are standards that women need to meet in order to be seen as beautiful, they, therefore, prefer applying the make-up (DiDonat, 2015). This is so especially for those who work in fields such as mass communication such as journalists. To boost their self-esteem and look good on the screen, they have to apply make-up. Some media companies have make-up artists who ensure that the employees look good when appearing on the cameras. This shows that even the organizations admit that make-up enhances women's beauty. For the women who see these influential people on the screen, they desire to be like them and become obsessed with beauty (DiDonat, 2015). The women also want to look good on social media platforms such as Instagram. If one woman takes a photo without make-up and another post a photo with make-up, the one with make-up is highly likely to get more likes. This means that people, to some degree, judge one's beauty depending on how she looks physically, especially the facial tone and body size and shape.
Conclusion
In conclusion, make-up raises the self-esteem of women by enhancing their look; hence, they are able to interact with people with confidence. The make-up facilitates the hiding of flaws that lowers the confidence of the women. Women also use make-up to increase their attractiveness whenever they are going on special occasions, and they want people to like how they look.
