The artist usually lived during times of serious social, economic, and social manifestations. The political and social realists would always put in huge occurrences in a number of artworks. The realists would have made a number of observations and reactions more often if not all the times. The reactions that come as result are used for making a number of references in or to the works themselves like in the woman with a parasol. As forced by requirements of ideas and neo-classic approach, the artist of the 'woman with a parasol' used the ideologies of the European fellow artists who were serious impressionists. The European impressionists aimed at changing the method which the artists used to make interpretations and make their surroundings familiar with them. Claude Monet used to develop plein-air practices. He was at a position to make many translations of what is mostly stylistic and was well recognized in three ways; socially, economically and politically. The artist used impressionist movements which captured the time that he lived with seducing colors and lights. In her painting, the artist illustrated the passage of time and the immersion between man and the nature that he lived in. Although the artists were rejected, mocked and literally criticized, the new approach that he used for his painting was mainly to bring in evocations as well as bring inspirations to a completely new view of creating art-works and thinking.
Woman with a Parasol by Monet was produced by impressionism pioneer. By the end of the eightieth century, he was particularly resonating as he intertwined with a personal understanding of the main visions of the movement. The painting artwork was made a number of years ago when France lost in the Franco-Prussian war. The artist managed to get clear captions of a fleeting whimsical view of her sons who were standing on the top of a cliff before the mother died. This scene that they were standing was completely removed from a reference to the political view even if they had serious and much influence. This single contextual aspect brings reflections of the artist's ideology of impressionist.
Impressionism is also depicted in the painting through its ideal setting. The artist viewed the world and illustrated it in a way that it was not before. Due to this, the artist contrasted a town that was filled with industries and there was also a vacation spot that was appealing to the artists. The impressionist was celebrating the people who were in the working class, their families and modern landscapes. While celebrating the working class meant that the impressionist touched on the social circumstance in her work. Also touching on working-class depicted a contextual economic issue worth noting in the artwork.
Moving away from the struggles of academic life, the artist meant that she could make paintings of the family in an afternoon walk. Additionally, it shows that the artist mastered the art of capturing glimpse moments of particular times. In his series, the artist shows major changes in light and atmosphere could cause to a particular subject. In Woman with a Parasol- Madame Monet and her son, the artist shows this moving moment with a lesser glance rather than color. Instead of making portraits of his own family in a picture with a typical portraiture pose, he displays the min their daily lives. Combining that with well established and visible lines, there is an effect of the place where the occurrence is taking place at that particular place. Even if the painting is said to be complete in a single day, it took the artist many hours to bring out the message.
