People call him by different titles, but I call him dad. He is the male figure in my life that has instilled ethical values and morals. This man has been a part of my life ever since my mother gave birth to me and brought me home. He has undertaken his fatherly duties with the utmost dedication. He has taught me everything from learning how to crawl, walk, talk, riding, and driving.
My father is the happiest person I know in the world. From the time he wakes up until the time he retires to bed at night, he is still smiling. A person can think that he does not have any worries in life. His wife often tells me that his infectious smile was one of the reasons she decided to marry him.
My father often says that a good smile will close any deal in life. It is his mantra in life. He explained that a smile has a way to open doors that are closed. For instance, if a customer is treated warmly with a smile, they will be bound to leave a tip later. It is just the way humans are, he will say.
The best times of my life are when we spend quality time together with him. Usually, we do no spend time together due to his schedule, but when we do, it is often a good time. For instance, one weekend we decided to for soccer practice at the local high school, since he is an avid soccer fan.
When we reached the training grounds, we found a freestyle soccer completion taking place. The winner of the completion would win a coupon for a year worth of pizza from the local restaurant. We decided to enter the completion since we met the requirements of two people per team. Luckily we won the competition and ended up having free pizza for a whole year. That day is the day I will cherish forever in my life. It is s because I got to see the competitive side of my father.
My dad has various traits that are unique to him. Firstly, my father is a very knowledgeable person. God has gifted him with a mind full of wisdom. For instance, on several occasions, I have watched him fix the television set when it is broken. Mind you; he is not a trained repairman.
He was also involved in the installation of a water pump in our backyard. The plumbers he had hired had done a shoddy job, and thus he was forced to handle the matter himself. It is in these instances that I feel that I have the most clever dad in the whole world.
Secondly, my father is a free-spirited person. Any person can be comfortable to hold conversations with him. He is open to learning new things and living life. For instance, he has recently taken a dance class to improve his salsa skills. He often calls himself the guru of dance.
Thirdly my father is a sincere man. He takes pride in doing the right thing and encourages as to emulate this trait. For instance, when I was seven years old, I picked up a brand new iPhone on my way to school. I was very excited as I did not have a phone and just happened that I picked up a phone.
My father, later on, advised me that it is not good to take people's property. He advised me that the right thing to do was to take the item to the police station and let them find the owner. After reflecting on this, I realized that my father has an honest heart.
Fourthly, my father is a very just and impartial person. He often looks at the facts and circumstances before making any decisions. For instance, my siblings and I often argue with each other. During these instances, it is often the prerogative of my father to find out what the problem is.
Furthermore, under this duty, my father often comes and asks everybody their side of the story before deciding to ground us or take away our games. Fifthly, my father is a very enterprising person. Whenever there seems to be no way, he will find away. He is easily motivated to do things that no one else wants.
For instance, before collecting plastics for recycling became a norm, he had advocated for the implementation of that policy in our neighborhood. He went from door to door, speaking and educating people about the importance of recycling and how it is essential for the planet. It shows how self-motivated my father is as a person.
Conclusion
Lastly, my father cares deeply about the planet. He has taught me about climate change and how human beings contribute to it. He is always involved in creating awareness on this issue. To conclude, my father's joy in life is to see other people happy. Happiness is an essential thing in life.
