Good leadership underscores goals that aspires leaders to become better in terms of integrity without the use of coercion or intimidation. One of the main leadership goals underlies development of self-discipline and personal responsibility. That includes acceptance of full responsibilities of ones behaviors, outcomes, actions and decisions whether positive or negative. Self-discipline would ensure unbiased actions and decisions through a controlled manner and awareness of repercussions of their actions and decisions (Bridges, 2016). Self-discipline and personal relationship therefore forms one of the major leadership goals as a step to personal leadership development plan.
Another leadership goal is the practicing of careful and active listening by treating everyone that they meet to be vast with valuable information hence helping in approaching beach person regardless of title or position with the curiosity of the mind of the beginner. Active listening among leaders helps in fostering respect, coupled with gaining of wisdom that5 is inherent among everyone (Ferraro, 2015). The third aspect of a leadership goal is building of resilience through the strive of increasing not only knowledge and diversity but also competence especially in the face of hardships.Resilisnce among leaders ensure that they remain flexible in times of changes and bending instead of breaking when deface with challenges.
One of the skills that can be acquired within a short period of time in the quest of achieving goals is trustworthiness in terms of competence and confidence. Honesty and integrity traits by a leader would encourage team building besides fostering trust and respect in all levels (Madsen, 2017). Striving for feedback is another skill that can be acquired shortly as it may be constructive and encouraging to the team that may subsequently define the line between the success and failure of employewes.Feedback soliciting would help a leader evaluate his stance and gain respect and loyalty from his employees. The third skill to gain within a short time would be relationship building that involves fostering a solid foundation and relationships built on trust with the employees. Team and effort investment on employees through emotion in strengthening the internal relationship with employees would inform the success of a leader
