Introduction
Democracy refers to a government where supreme power lies with the people and can be exercised either directly or indirectly with them via representation system which entails periodically held elections. In simpler terms, democracy is a government where the action is vested on the best interest of its residents (Kriesi 14). However, if a person interacts with people, one may understand that concepts of democracy "vested in the people" may not necessarily be honored. Most people believe that the government is vested in money where it is allowed to occur because of ignorance.
In every democratic society, money is an integral part of the system in which some politicians seeks most. In most instances, politicians spend more hours gathering funds and donations for the sake of campaigns (Cartledge 44). Thus, it brings to question whether it is important to ask for money for someone to hold an office.
Democracy is not Democracy
Although democracy last more than monarchy and aristocracy, it never lasts for long. In other words, democracy exhausts, wastes, and kills itself. Arguably, John Adam claims that there ceases a democracy that cannot commit suicide to itself (Robbins 87). Also, Adam claims that a tea democracy, by definition, is a political system type where the citizen or representatives govern themselves lawfully instead of being governed especially by the monarchy, totalitarian and military party. In current society, most people may not realize anything wrong in the system regardless of whether it is right in front of their face because they do not care.
One of the major challenge faced in democracies is the division of representatives to form or unionize faction. During the revolution, a time was injustice and chaos are perpetuated, unionization is the adopted inception that is effective in eradicating national and state government as a whole (Robbins 82). Absolute power in democracy is highly addressed.
Democracy is a government system where people exercise power by electing representative or directly from among themselves to create a government body like parliament. In most instances, democracy is regarded as a majority rule. Democracy can easily be distinguished in everyday people talks, papers, and news. Democracy is mostly associated with goodness and equality (Kriesi 23). Theoretically, democracy does not necessarily mean a rule of a specific group of people, but it is the rule of the people and the power of the people. However, people may think that democracy is liberty. For people' freedom to observe, the liberty of everyone has to be curtailed.
Democracy, by definition, is a government system by the population or every eligible member of a state via elected representatives. In democracy, the land and the country's population participates in governance. However, for the parties to participate, elections must be conducted. Throughout history, democracy has gone through various changes. In the early day, the government was currently controlled by the population, but currently, people are allowed to appoint their representatives. In democratic government, there is a unique approach to diving power between those elected and electors. Although democratic models are different, the condition in which power is obtained remains the same.
Democracy refers to power of people by the people. Democracy is derived from two ancient Greek words demos "People" and krates "rule." If the two words are combined, it means the rule of power. Democracy is a government system by the states' population via elected representatives. Democracy is a government system where people make decisions for themselves.
The ancient Greek government was almost close to the rule of the people. Greek believed that dictatorship was the worst form of government, so they sorted to have a different system. In the process, people were allowed to provide their opinion in which the government should be ruled. However, democracy should not be confused by an oligarchy, which is typically ruled by a small group of individuals (Robbins 83). In such a system, people are ruled by leadership qualities, intelligence, and virtues.
Direct democracy is when an individual in groups decide on their representatives and politics. In the United States, for instance, indirect democracy is the custom on which democracy is structured (Cartledge 34). Indirect democracy refers to individuals who are elected to represent those who elected them. Indirect democracy has three components, namely popular sovereignty, political liberty, and political equality.
The rivalry between democrats and republicans in which they choose the best is not individual making better agreement on what government system which they prefer. In a democratic system, the voice of people is heard, including those with special interest. Elected officials are expected to make decisions that benefit everybody. Democracy benefits its citizens by empowering people' practices which rely on self-reliant in making decision and choices in democracy.
