The following activities will require you to use the information from the video and also Google for the information that is not presented in the video. Make sure that you follow all the instructions and complete all the activities outlined below.

Activity 1

Watch the film and use it to answer the following questions.

1. What are the carnivorous plants?

2. Identify the carnivorous plants discussed in the film and list them in the order which they have been addressed in the film.

3. How many species of carnivorous plays are found in the world?

4. What do carnivorous plants eat?

5. In want conditions do carnivorous plants grow?

Activity 2

Watch the film again to identify the following terms from the video and follow the instructions provided each term.

1. What are microbes?

2. Define the term prey and identify various preys mentioned in the film.

3. Define the term narcotic and provide an example of a narcotic mentioned in the film.

4. What are enzymes and what is their function in carnivorous plants?

5. When the carnivorous plants trap insects and small animals, they are digested and absorbed by the carnivorous plants. Define the term digestion and describe how various carnivorous plants digest their prey.

6. Define the term predators?

Activity 3

Carnivorous plants grow in hostile conditions, and they adapt in these conditions by trapping insects and small animals. The film provides different carnivorous plants. You are supposed to follow the following instructions and write a short paragraph about each carnivorous plant presented in the film.

1. Name the plant

2. Where does the plant grow (either on soil or in water)?

3. What does the plant eat?

4. How does it attract prey?

5. How does it digest its prey?

Activity 4

After watching the video identify your favorite carnivorous plant from the video and follow the following instructions.

1. Provide the name of the plant.

2. Draw and color a picture of your selected plant and make it as attractive as possible.

3. Write a short paragraph describing your selected plant and identify its unique adaptations and how it protects itself from predators.

Activity 5

This will be a group activity where the teacher will divide you into groups of five students. While in your groups you should;

1. Ensure that everyone in the group is active?

2. Discuss what you have learned about carnivorous plants?

3. Present the drawing of your favorite carnivorous plant to the other students and tell them about the unique characteristics of your selected plant.

4. If a member of your group presents a different plant from yours make sure that you write down its unique features.
