Introduction
An organization like the Enterprise Content Management industry is currently undergoing a digital transformation process. This industry was covering two different segments. The first segment was known as the Management of Enterprise content which was focusing on issues like, indexing and sorting, managing, quotations or other records like purchase orders (Aaron, 2014). Their main concern is content management and digital assets. This issue does not only apply to the Information and Technology area, but also a central business strategy. The scales are nowadays indicating significant measures has changed in the content management industry because different diversities of data needs to be managed in terms of the volume and richness. Therefore, our primary focus is going to be in the analysis of the criteria that new generation companies are using to remove the enterprise content management industries from there comfort zones as we check on the loopholes as well as suggested solutions to the dilemma.
The major problem in this case, in my view, is the inability to quickly and efficiently use and share information. The system of new generation companies has created a podium for their users to easily share information and conserve space, too, unlike the ECM technologies. It is difficult to share information in a business field with ECM fitted gadgets hence, a dilemma is experienced between customers, suppliers, and customers because they cannot share information in a flowing manner (Aaron, 2014). Additionally, the lack of cloud storage services paved more way for micro-companies to come up with a new technique to pave roads for them in the competitive market.
Content solutions are my first proposed solution. Even though the world of ECM is considered old and behemoth, the technology approach of managing contents should provide standard ways of how to solve the content dilemma (Aaron, 2014). Our interaction mode with content, disseminate and collaborate the flow of information is changing with time in the business field. Therefore, the silos of content are expected to connect the information existing across the organizations as it makes the information readily available to the relevant persons within the business environment. To achieve this, organizations must organize their content house.
A large number of professionals in the information and management field stores their information in the ECM system. This indicates how organizations are trying to manage the flow of content as my second proposed solution. The ECM, therefore, have to rethink this approach as they approach professionals in the IT field and enhance the organization's flow of content (Aaron, 2014). When there is a smooth channel that contents flow through in the organizations, solutions to various problems affecting the company are found before they create hazards because all the parties involved are updated systematically.
In support of my solutions, the ECM already had an existing market for its products. Still, unfortunately, the upcoming companies came up with better deals of options for their customers who were very sensitive to issues regarding the storage space and safety of their kept data. (Aaron, 2014) Therefore, giving a solution to the contents of their customers is the best option for understanding the needs of customers before they lose them to the upcoming companies. This also means that they have to maintain their existing expertise, as they create adjustments at the same time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the enterprise content management team might lose its customers due to the competitive market instilled by the new generation companies. This is because, if they consider the solutions to be optional, they will be left behind time and customers will run for what is simple and more modern.
