Introduction
Growth art has impacted on the general welfare of humanity. The beauty of the universe is illustrated through diverse appreciation of the art. Advancement in art has coupled growth in photography which covers a wide range of human social political and economic life. Through photography, the plight of various marginalized groups is brought to the attention of the world. On the other hand, photography creates a reference point in memories of great events such as celebrations. Likewise, photography connects groups of people with similar experiences, creating a sense of belonging amongst the involved parties. The translation of the contemporary issues in the society creates a connection between the art and the society (Hirsch 52). Photography has contributed to the establishment of social consciousness which seek public opinion on different societal experiences such as love, victory, injustices, celebrations, war as well as human rights abuse.
Human Expression
Human expression in diverse fields such as politics, emotion, religious stand and philosophical positions has been facilitated by photography. Photography creates a common basis for feelings, attitudes and collective ideas that bring the society to the common joint. As illustrated in the French group Les Nabis, art work was targeted embracing art in religious prophesies in the modes of the modern invention (Tolstoi 23). The group symbolically used art; the plight of immigrants is elaborated through the Oregon Trail. The introduction of photography addressed a couple of issue such as the child labour; working conditions as well as a living environment for certain group of people. As highlighted in the photography work of Jacob Riis, one of the early adopters of photography in the US, photography is a tool of lounging accusations against human injustices. Additionally, was used to address child labour in the early American society. The rampant spread in child labour was addressed by Lewis Hine, in an appeal to social consciousness; he equally addressed the conditions of refugees through photography a move that yielded fruits through the abolition of child labour (Sampsell-Willmann 392). Vietnam War was one of the mind blowers in the advent of photography. The emergency of photographic images of the bloodshed incurred by the US soldiers alongside the innocent Vietnam natives coupled growth in unrest and demonstrations against the war. Similarly, through the photography, inequality and uneven exposure to facilities is a reality. Paccarik Orue, from Peru documented images of connecting his experience with struggling communities in Richmond's neglected area Bayview-Hunter's Point. The document creates a sense of appreciation in the residents due to the acknowledgement of their conditions. On the other hand, the photographer realizes a home to associate with as well as impacting on the same society.
