Jeff is an autocratic leader who consults no one or expects no feedback when implementing what he thinks is correct. He is not afraid of trading the employee's comfort for professional performance. Luckily, he feels well about his decisions that ensure that they will be produced before implementing them.

Do You Feel That This Communication Will Be Effective?

Think that this communication will be useful because Jeff employs an authoritative voice that orders the employees to behave in a specific way, rather than requesting them to do so. The employees will only fear the directive out of fear. It would have been more productive to do so with understanding and care, as the employees would understand the rationale for such decisions. It won't encourage collaboration.

How Does the Process of Critical Thinking Assist in The Communication Process?

The process of critical thinking empowers people to speak meaningful words and make more relative sense in their communications (Mendez, n.d.). It encourages productivity, prevents conflicts, and allows essential thinkers to live more purposefully.

For Your Responses, How Could You Justify Your Communication in Terms of Argumentation?

Removing the cubicles and the desktop telephone services are based on a random thought that the employees mainly carry out their businesses instead of being professionally productive at work. I think that other measures would have to encourage productivity instead of this "punishment.”

Illogical News Scenario

Fake news and illogical arguments intend to influence the readers in a specific direction and divert them from the truth. In October 2019, A news website called Potatriots Unite published a fake story, claiming that Nancy Pelosi had diverted $2.4 billion from Social Security to finance Trump's impeachment hearing (Gunnington, F. (2019). This fake and satirical story sought to make more Americans infuriated and even against President Trump. It is uncouth and unethical, seeking to capture the attention of the people who are neither keen nor focused on fact-checking (ReasoningLab, n.d.). With four million shares on Facebook, the story went viral and annoyed even many more.

Describe How the Responses Help or Hurt the Original Argument

The comments much helped the publishers of the story to further their agenda as they show anger, displeasure, and even curses at Trump. They helped in further tarnishing his name even among many who has previously much liked him.

Do You Believe Social Media Would Be as Impactful If Illogical Arguments Were Removed?

No. Social media has been shaped and directed by the behaviors and the social communication needs of the people, where illogical arguments are part and parcel of the entire spectacle. Without the irrelevant comments, it would be neither as exciting nor as captivating to the millions as it does now. It allows anyone to publish a story, which could be either logical, illogical, or fake. Therefore, it would not be impactful if more strict regulations were implemented.

What About the Moderators/Controls? Discuss How These Controls Influence the Comments

The forum moderators pose a topic but have no control over what opinions are expressed. In some forums, they can delete or hide offensive comments. Still, they do not have to power to influence or change the orientation of social media because it is all about the people consuming and responding to the stories.
