Introduction

When writing, we need to be as clear and specific as possible. Let the readers know what the paragraph is all about by using specific names and avoid making them draw the picture on their own. When developing an essay, one is expected to be specific to capture the audience's attention. Giving something or someone its proper name brings out the beauty aspect of that particular object. It presents a more specific picture; for instance, when presenting a flower, let the readers know what type of flower it is to make them gain a clear understanding. The geranium is known for its beauty, which is the red petal, circular green leaves. The essay would even be more interesting if the readers see the beauty of the objects and can see what the writer is talking about with ease. The paper would be very general if the writer just mentions a flower and leaves the readers to answer the other questions. By being specific, one can achieve many things in writing and identify the beauty of their written pieces and the environment.

There was a time when I decided to learn more about plant and flower species in my neighborhood. I bought a science book that would help me classify the plants and animals into their right classes. I would examine oak leaves, eucalyptus barks, mango seeds among other species from the neighborhood, and match them with what was on my science book. There were many landowners in the area, and I would often approach them to assist me with the classifications. I expected the farmers to give me the name of the plants and animals in their yards and match them with my study. Most farmers who planted the fruits and animals did not know their actual names even though they were on their farms. Most individuals only have flowers and plants in their yards to make their environment attractive and have no deep connections with them.

It is always essential to know the names of the plants and animals as this may make one have a deep interest in the object. Besides, one also feels nice if they can notice what they know by their actual name, for instance, identifying a rose flower instead of just seeing it as a flower makes one more careful to find what is in their environment. It will bore the readers if the writer is particular or if they are unable to keep a connection with what is around them.

William Carlos Williams, the poet, is more specific in his poems by naming them like chicory, daisy, locust, primrose, quince, poplar, lilacs, and black-eyed Susan. Williams argues that each of the plants and animals has their integrity, and it is appreciated by naming them. However, this is not enough when being specific as the readers need to know what type of daisy it is, and this can be achieved by stating its functions and beauty aspects to the environment. We all know that plants and flowers exist, but people need a clear description of the objects to get satisfied.

Lastly, when we get more specific, we tend to penetrate more deeply into the present and being there. For example, when saying geranium instead of flowers, the readers can paint a picture of the beauty of geranium, unlike what they would have had if it were just a flower. The more we get specific is, the more we get closer to the things around us and gives them more proper functioning.
