Have layoffs or unemployment issues affected Yulee Florida and, if so, in what ways?
Yulee has been faced with rampant layoffs in most business. According to the Yulee Florida Times-Union, more than 30 factory employees at S&G Packaging lost their jobs. In addition the sequence of lying of continued which may have negative consequences on the plant (Mark, 2018). S&G plant has been making paper bags since it opened in 1954. The plan would lay off more than 300 people would lose their jobs. Similarly, The Chicago-based firm is closing its firm located in Yulee to shrink its business. Chicago firm is one of the ten biggest private employers in Yulee and after closing down its firm many people lost their jobs. Most workers who lost their jobs have been working with this firm since it was established and therefore they are old to seek for employment. However, some workers are in their 40s and 50s, and they are going to have searched for new occupations. Prior to the changes in the company, the company operated for 24 hours a day hence employing many workers who rotated on eight hours slots. The workers are now devastated and are planning to seek for other jobs after they witnessed the consisted lay off. Some prepared employees are happy with the layoff because they were ready to work in a different line of duty (Mark, 2018).
According to Brodsky (2011), over 400 Nassau County employees were laid off while 200 were demoted. Some Nassau residents are concerned that county services will be negatively impacted by the latest round of layoffs that resulted in more than 250 workers losing their jobs today. Island Luck Company also laid off more than 350 employees from the farm. The company had delayed the process to wait for authorities' time to complete a study on the impact a new sliding scale tax structure would have on the gaming industry (Bastian, 2018). The government is exploiting most firms by making them pay a huge tax to the state and therefore they cannot make profits. The firm had written a warning letter to the Department of Labor explaining that it would lay off 50 percent of its workers within a month (Bastian 2018). When the time the management gave the state expired, there was an interview on the number of people who would be left unemployed. The new tax sliding was implemented by July and most workers were laid off before this month to cover the new expenses.
Asure Win Gaming Company announced to close down eleven branches nationwide and layoff fifty workers. The company came to this decision after realizing that these branches have been underperforming. They were not yielding the expected returns and hence the management decided to close them down and cut done their costs of operations.
One effect of unemployment in Yulee is the low standard of living. As employment levels continue to increase the citizens become poorer because they cannot afford the basic needs that are necessary for survival. These needs include food, shelter, and clothing. The citizens of this country are struggling to buy food for survival. They are living in a total poverty because they cannot afford proper housing and other basic commodities. As inflation rises, imports become expensive and this is the reason why the government of Yulee has reduced its importation of food. The supply of food and other commodities, therefore, reduces while demand continues to increase. Unemployment affects exchange rate making it harder to obtain the necessary commodities to sustain life. Yulee's economy is experiencing shortages of some goods needed to improve their standard of living. The citizens cannot afford cheap commodities such as toilet papers and soaps. The increased unemployment hinders economic growth and developments since the government is using public funds to provide food and other basic commodities to the citizens instead of constructing road and manufacturing companies. The Gross domestic product of the country reduces because most people are hungry and therefore non-productive
The government should offer employees benefits that are necessary for them to improve their work productivity. These include medical care, optical and dental care, retirement pensions and counseling programs to assist employees. The costs of these benefits are not very expensive since the employees will improve their work productivity by making the company enjoy more profits to compensate for the costs of these benefits. Statutory benefits would include workers compensation, socio security, and unemployment compensation. The company has employees, and if all the employees are offered benefit packages, the company will eliminate turnover rates since these benefits help in increasing profit margins. They make the employees become loyal to the company and feel that they are part of it and therefore creating a good working environment where employees become more creative and productive. The morale of employees is also improved, and they work for the company for a long period.
There are several community groups that try to promote the education of young people in Yulee Florida. Some have the specific or special interests driving these groups' interests in education. they include the two main United States political parties and the League of Women Voters are three groups interested in getting voters to the polls but their underlying reasons for doing so are quite different. Their main aim is to have people vote but they try to come up with regulations that promote education (Moore, Bagin, & Gallagher, 2012).
Education plays a significant role in nurturing every child's potential and improve their academic performance. The government has come up with strategies and policies for the practice of early childhood setting. The essay will include one government strategy and policy that have been enacted to students. These include the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations Universal education which requires that every child despite race or gender must receive an education.
The black race has been neglected in this county and therefore everyone sees them as criminals. Most of the blacks are poor and do not afford to enroll in colleges and universities. They turn to gun and drugs violence as a way to find funds for their needs. The society should be concerned about their needs to be more understanding about the role poverty, race, and other social pressures play in neighborhoods with high rates of gun violence injuries planning ways to resolve this issue. The municipal should intervene through public health to ensure that they blacks gun victims receive urgent medical services to save their lives. The state should also make policies that concern the black wellbeing so that they may feel included in the government. Most of the black people never get the chance to attend to school lack employment opportunities because they do not have required qualifications. The state should create employment opportunities so that they would be able to cater to their needs and those of their families. The government may also come up with policies that will provide training to equip them with the required skills and knowledge. Poverty reduction programs by training the black people ways of being self-employed would helpful in reducing gun crimes. The state of Florida should lay strategies to curb structural racism. To promote education, a lot of measures have been taken up by the government and non-government organizations. Many organizations have been formed to talk to youths in schools about the importance of education.
