Introduction
The main reason for aircraft maintenance is to ensure the total cost-effective safety of the passengers on board. The primary thing that the management of an airline should observe is the operating condition of a plane to ensure that it is in the right shape. Human life is precious, and all measures must be followed to ensure that accidents are minimized if not totally managed. There is a need to ensure that the operational cost is minimized to raise the revenue levels.
The activities done for maintaining aircraft are crucial in keeping the aircraft in perfect shape for maximum efficiency through the application of structures and new materials. Handling of new structures or materials where experience is minimal, keen observation is done until complete satisfaction of quality maintenance is achieved. The maintenance provides an opportunity to restore the state of its safety at the lowest cost possible. The information on structural design, evaluation of damage tolerance, the experience in handling similar structures of aircraft, deterioration of susceptible structures, and the ability to apply different ways of detecting deterioration of the structures is the basis of a new aircraft program (De Bruecker et al. 2018).
The aircraft inventory management aims at the requirements of the customers to balance their levels of inventory with no interruptions of their services. The purchase of aircraft inventory is consigned and prepared just-in-time for repair stations, distributors, and airlines. When making a purchase, it is critical to make sure that the materials used are of the right quality and standards to avoid relying on substandard commodities that will in future lead to accidents and high maintenance cost for an airline.
The component reliability of an aircraft is only as good as its design makes it appear (Gu et al., 2015). The literature review is that for the aircraft to function effectively, there must be appropriate methods to be followed for its maintenance. The problem statement focuses on the effective methods to maintain an aircraft with cost-effective procedures for the maximum output. The need for this research is to identify the best procedures that should be followed during the maintenance of the aircraft for maximum safety. The objective of this research is to achieve cost-effective aircraft hardware maintenance of components for improving the service provided by the aircraft. The research methodology aims to use appropriate aircraft structures to replace deteriorated materials. The expected outcome of this research is to find the best aircraft maintenance program that is safe and affordable.
