Mario Diaz-Balart is the current congressman, fulfilling his 8th term in the US House of representatives. He serves as the 25th congressional district of Florida (Conley "U.S. House Candidates"). He has been in the position since 2002. However, he previously was serving the Florida State Legislature in both chambers, House and Senate for 14 years. Diaz-Balart was born on September 25, 1961, in Florida, and studied political science at his higher level education, in the University of South Florida (Mario Diaz-Balart "Congressman Mario"). Just after his graduation, he went into public service as an assistant of Xavier Suarez in 1985. He joined the Florida House in 1988 and moved later in 1992 to the Senate (Conley "Mario Diaz-Balart"). It is at the same year that he shifted his political party affiliation to Republican from democratic. His current place of residence is in Miami, Florida. In his line of duty, Diaz-Balart is a recognized member of the House Committee on Appropriations (Mario Diaz-Balart "Congressman Mario"). Additionally, he is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. He realizes human rights and democracy globally, yet still supports allies around the world. Diaz-Balart is responsible for federal spending, specifically in the domain of discretionary allocations. Florida's 25th congressional district is on a stretch from the suburbs west of Miami west and borders Naples and Macro Island to the east. It lies at the Everglades border along Alligator Alley. Most of the population of the district is made up of Cuban Americans (Scott Rasmussen "2018 House Race"). Between 2003 and 2012, there was a stretch through Everglades including parts of Collier, Hendry, and Miami-Dade counties. The municipalities covered have included the Homestead, Cutler Bay, and Leisure City. David Rivera is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the district and lives to date. The district has the highest share of Hispanic eligible voters, where most of them are controlled by democratic voters (Scott Rasmussen "2018 House Race"). The Northwest Florida Water Management District is well known in the district. Various recreational activities are done including hunting. There are non-improved areas in Chipola River, as well as Econfina Creek. The district is active in compiling storm and water levels. Unemployment rates in the area are minimal, and most of the locals are graduates from high school. Mario Diaz-Balart is the incumbent of the district. Diaz-Balart has served the U.S. House of Representatives showing his success as a politician. He is a good legislator as he has performed in the state legislature, where he ranked among the best legislators in Florida where he came up with the budget hawk. The next election will see him win again because of his deeds for the district.
